Cayo Ensenachos, June 2009

Obscured by large Cumulonimbus, thunderstorms and heavy rain were the precursor of a hot and humid season. The water temperature was high, the sea green emerald hid a low salinity water, the heavy rains of recent days had pushed large predators away from the coast. Tarpon and pargos were very discreet, allowing common species to reveal, this hot season will be tough.

However, barracuda, and Mojarra cubereta were very active, lessons taught by Cuban fishermen have greatly improved our knowledge on Cubereta fishing.

Despite the weather, it was a good fishing trip. The record for the biggest barracuda of Ensenacho has been beaten.
